Today in Smart Lab, you will need to do the following:A) go to this website http://www.howstuffworks.com/
and pick out one topic from either the computer section
at http://computer.howstuffworks.com/

or from the electronics section at http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/

or from the automotive section at http://auto.howstuffworks.com/

The choice of topic is yours. For example, in the automotive section, there are articles about how motorcycles work, about alternative fuels, hybrid cars, all kinds of stuff. Likewise, the electronics section has articles about the inner workings of “Guitar Hero”, how DVRs work, and the history of mp3 music. The computer section has articles about how USB memory sticks work, how DVD players work, where Linux came from, etc etc.

B) Once you’ve chosen a topic, you need to find out at least the following about whatever topic you’ve elected to look at:
ü When the thing was first invented
ü The person, or persons or companies involved in its creation
ü Two other inventions which made this thing possible
ü At least two good things which this gadget or invention does
ü At least one possible drawback to having this device
ü Do you already own one of them, and what ways do you use it.
C) All the answers to the questions listed above will have to be answered in a blog post, which you will make on our blog -- you know, the one where you have to log in first! Please save this new blogpost with your name, plus the letters “HSW” plus the name of the device you read about
D) Also, this blog posting must have a link to the EXACT webpage where you got your information from.
